| The
multifaceted panorama of Los Roques
gives us the chance to realize 7, 10, 15 day-cruises
during which you will never touch twice the same island.
The untouched archipelago facing the coasts of Venezuela
emerges magnificently before your eyes, with its numerous
islands, in a climatic heaven where you will be able
to find a unique flora and fauna. In 1969 the archipelago
has been declared Marine Reservation and in 1972 National
Park. It is composed of 350 islands with white madreporic
beaches encircled by an ever calm sea. All the year
round you will enjoy pleasant temperatures and a transparent
sea whose colours vary from deep blue to turquoise to
emerald green…
In the reef encircling the archipelago you will find
many colourful tropical fish, corals with incredible
shapes and colours, turtles that come in these desert
beaches to lay their eggs.
Among the mangrovias and the so called “uva de
playa” trees there are large colonies of sea birds
such as pelicans, seagulls, frigate-birds, herons, shags
and flamingos.
The island of Grand Roque is the only inhabited island
of the archipelago, just a few hundreds fishermen live
there, and it is the only island to have an airport
and a few small receptive equipments built according
to the local style. Grand Roque is situated 150 kilometers
(93 miles) north, off the coasts of Venezuela, in the
middle of the Caribbean sea. There are several daily
domestic flights which connect Caracas International
Airport (Maqueitia) to Grand Roques. Duration flight:
35 minutes.
Thus
it is the perfect place to spend your holidays…….all
the year round!
Climate:
Constant temperature 28°C (82°F) throughout
the year.
